Venture capital firm Andreessen Horowitz (a16z) on Oct. 3, 2025, released a landmark report on startup spending, providing the first data-driven look at which artificial intelligence tools are actually being adopted by businesses. The analysis, based on transaction data from over 200,000 customers of the fintech company Mercury, ranked the top 50 AI applications by startup spending between June and August 2025.
