Anthropic launched a deep integration of its "Claude Code" product into Slack on December 8, positioning the AI as a collaborative teammate rather than a passive tool. Developers can now tag @Claude within a Slack thread to initiate complex workflows. The agent can analyze the conversation context, locate the relevant code repository, propose a fix, and generate a pull request without the human developer ever leaving the chat interface. This moves the interaction model from a "copilot" in an IDE to an autonomous agent in a communication hub.
