Asana Launches "AI Teammates" for Collaborative Workflows
The new platform provides collaborative agents that prioritize transparency and human oversight over full autonomy.
A Focus on Collaboration, Not Autonomy
Asana Inc. on Sep 29, 2025, announced the beta availability of its "AI Teammates" platform. The product provides collaborative agents designed to understand organizational context and work alongside human teams. General availability is expected in the first quarter of fiscal year 2027.
In its announcement, Asana positioned the platform as an alternative to fully autonomous agents. The company cited research from Carnegie Mellon University that such systems fail at 70% of basic tasks. "Everyone is building autonomous agents, but autonomy is the wrong goal," Asana CEO Dan Rogers said in a statement.
