German EdTech startup paddy closed €1 million in pre-seed funding on August 11, 2025. High-Tech Gründerfonds led the round with participation from Paul Müller of Adjust and Carsten Thoma of La Famiglia.

Rapid User Growth Metrics

The Bielefeld-based company launched its AI platform in January 2025. Within six months, paddy reached 12,000 active teacher users across the DACH region.

Despite individual adoption, the startup has only 100 school customers as institutional buyers. This gap highlights organizational resistance to AI deployment in education.
