India Targets Deepfakes with Mandatory Labeling
The government of India proposed draft amendments to its IT Rules that would require the mandatory labeling of AI-generated content on social media platforms. The move is a direct response to the "growing misuse of synthetically generated information, including deepfakes," the IT Ministry said.
