Microsoft launched its first homegrown artificial intelligence image generator, MAI-Image-1. The new model is designed to produce photorealistic imagery with a focus on natural lighting, landscapes, and lifelike details. Microsoft said it collaborated with creative professionals during the model's development to avoid the generic look common in some AI-generated content.
