Okta launched "Okta for AI Agents" to address a critical governance gap, as data shows 91% of organizations use AI agents but only 10% have a security strategy for them.

Addressing the Governance Gap

Identity security firm Okta on Sep 30, 2025, unveiled Okta for AI Agents, a new platform designed to discover, classify, and govern non-human AI identities. The launch directly addresses a critical and growing security risk in the enterprise. According to Okta, while 91% of organizations are already deploying AI agents, only 10% have a clear governance strategy for these non-human identities.

"We're starting to see poorly built, deployed, or managed agents expose the risks of using a traditional patchwork of identity solutions," said Kristen Swanson, Okta's SVP of Design and Research, in a press release.
