The Definitive Agreement
SoftBank Group and Intel Corporation on Aug. 18, 2025, signed a definitive agreement for the Japanese conglomerate to invest $2 billion in the U.S. chipmaker. Under the terms, SoftBank will purchase Intel common stock at $23 per share. The deal gives SoftBank a stake of just under 2%, making it Intel's sixth-largest shareholder.
