Thai Union Group PCL, one of the world's largest seafood producers, announced a new partnership to tackle ocean plastic pollution. The company is teaming up with the Aerial Recon & Recovery Initiative (ARRI) to deploy drones and artificial intelligence to locate and remove "ghost gear" from coastal waters.

Ghost gear refers to abandoned, lost, or discarded fishing gear, which is considered one of the deadliest forms of marine debris. This project is part of Thai Union's "SeaChange 2030" sustainability strategy, which includes a commitment to divert 1,500 tons of ocean-bound plastic by 2030.
