White House to Seek Input on Easing AI Regulations

A "Light-Touch" Approach
The White House Office of Science and Technology Policy (OSTP) plans to release a Request for Information (RFI) later this month, Axios reported on September 12, 2025. The RFI will solicit feedback from the public and private sectors on federal regulations that may be hindering the development and deployment of artificial intelligence.
This action is the first policy step recommended in the administration's "America's AI Action Plan," which was released in July 2025. The plan's stated goals include accelerating innovation and removing "onerous Federal regulations."
